In terms of growth, how has the county fared in handling infrastructure needs and services for residents?

There is a need for improvement in working with the State Highway Commission & the N.C. Department of Transportation to ensure the county’s transportation needs are met. There is also a need to provide better drainage for our road right-of-ways. We need to provide public water to the citizens throughout the entire county. There are areas of Brunswick County that desperately need water.

Sewer is very important to the coastal areas of the county & other areas that are more densely populated.

We also need to work to provide services for our aging population. Proper planning will afford us the ability to provide for such services as hospitals, physicians, mental health facilities, and other medical needs.

What is the biggest issue facing the county in the next four years? Why?

Orderly growth is the biggest issue of our great county. While growing, we must also be able to provide services at reasonable rates for all the citizens of Brunswick County. The need for services has never been greater.

If elected, would you support raising taxes? Why or why not?

Absolutely not and this is the reason why: Brunswick County is experiencing multi-billion dollar growth as result of new home construction. This growth will provide more income for Brunswick County. The county needs to operate within its financial means. And we can do just that without raising tax rates.
