Sep 21, 2007 - Brunswick County has been discovered, U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre said Monday, and a congressional office in the county will help serve the people of the 7th District. “People from all over are discovering that Brunswick County is a great place to live, work, worship, play and retire,” he said. McIntyre officially opened his office at the Brunswick County Courthouse Monday. September 17 is Constitution Day, the 220th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. McIntyre said he timed the office opening to coincide with recognizing the historic day. “Our job is to represent the people. We the people…,” he said to a large crowd gathered for the ceremony. State Sen. R.C. Soles, representatives from municipal governments, county boards and agencies, law enforcement and the court system gathered on the front steps of the courthouse Monday morning for the office’s grand opening. McIntyre said when he traveled to the nation’s capital later that day, he’d have Brunswick County and southeastern North Carolina on his mind. By Lisa P Stites
