This is what they shared about the new year with The Sun News: Carolina Shores - Linda Herncane, town administrator, said she predicts the new year will be an "active and proactive" one for Carolina Shores. Sunset Beach - Annexation, a new bridge, new sewer system and a possible boat landing are on the slate for things to work on in 2007 for this beach town. Town administrator Linda Fluegel said the town will work toward annexing Sandpiper Bay and the Bonaparte Retreat subdivision in 2007. Brunswick school district - Brunswick County schools, maybe moreso than the county itself, are bursting at the seems. The school board hopes to have a five- to 10-year construction and renovation plan approved by the county commissioners by February. Not only must administrators keep rapid growth in mind but day-to-day curriculum decisions. The district faces a national accreditation review in late February by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Between 12 and 16 education professionals from outside and inside the state will evaluate the school system. By Jason M Rodreguez
