                                                           Cheryl Cheers Wilson

Cheryl has 25 years experience in the criminal justice system; Legal Secretary for 9 years and Magistrate for 16 years. She has been making the kind of decisions that qualify her to be the next Clerk of Superior Court. Her priorities are:

Addressing customer service, morale and technology
Strengthening all working relationships that affect the clerk’s office and its relations with the public

Letter of Endorsement from the current Clerk of Superior Court:

TO THE CITIZENS OF BRUNSWICK COUNTY:

During my thirty-two years of public service, I have had a unique vantage point to witness Brunswick County’s growth in population and economic diversity. Brunswick
County’s success is the result of the work of leaders who understood that our county’s potential could best be realized by respecting its most valuable resource-its people. As Clerk of Superior Court it has been my honor to serve Brunswick County’s citizens by insuring their impartial and effective access to the judicial system. It is vitally important to me that the highest degree of respect and competence continue to be a hallmark of the Clerk’s Office and that is why I endorse Cheryl Cheers Wilson.
Cheryl Cheers Wilson has served on the front line of Brunswick County’s judicial system for 16 years as a magistrate. She knows that the judicial system is about resolving problems. She has the personal skills to relate to all people and the work ethic to dedicate herself fully to her responsibilities. Her management skills are the result not only of her service as a magistrate but of her experience as a legal secretary for over nine years. Her ability to organize and manage a staff of courtroom professionals is evident.  Cheryl has a genuine desire to help her fellow citizens.  She will operate the Clerk’s Office with efficiency and an appreciation of the role of technology.
I am certain that she will fulfill her responsibilities with an eye to continually improving the office and providing personal assistance to all who access the judicial system. Cheryl’s eagerness to serve, her esteem for the citizens, and her experience with the courts, make her the best choice to serve as Clerk of Superior Court of Brunswick County.
                                                                                                                Most Sincerely,
                                                                                                                Diana Morgan
